The conference

On August 22-23 2009 the Lumiera community participated to FrOSCon,
the 4th German conference on Free Software and Open Source held at the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhine-Sieg.

The project

6 community members had fun meeting interesting people and projects, discussing about video editing and openvideo, presenting the Lumiera project, its goals and its plans.

An interview

Mario Behling from LXDE talked to the Lumiera team in front of a microphone for 35 minutes.
The interview is now online at Mario’s blog perspective89 and at Radio Tux.

Thanks to Mario for his warm support and to the Radio Tux team who made this happen.

Video production and education

During the conference, Skolelinux and Lumiera teams discussed and experimented possible uses of video for educational purposes.
The fun included a Stopmotion workshop for kids and teachers.

A short video

Playing with a camera and a steadicam we ended up shooting some footage.
Maybe some day we’ll find the time to edit it, maybe to produce a short video that won’t tell you anything interesting about the conference, nor about our project or any FOSS related stuff…
